Last night we went to a Sufi Whirling Dervish Ceremony, somewhere in Cappadocia. We were able to photograph the area prior to the ritual, but once the ceremony began, all cameras needed to be tucked away. In addition, there was no smoking, no cells, and no applause. They are trying to maintain the integrity of an ancient ritual that was certainly never meant for "entertainment" purposes... Okay, we were at the historical Carevanserai for this event. I will write more about this experience in a later post...
